The Belfast Junior Giants where formed in June 2007. They came into exsistance when the two clubs that where playing out of Dundonald International Ice Bowl at the time, the Northern Ireland Ice Hockey Club and the BC Flyers agreed that the only way forward for junior ice hockey in Northern Ireland was to amalgimate both clubs junior sections and form one new junior ice hockey club.
 
With Todd Kelman now General Manager of the Coors Belfast Giants, an approach was made to him to see if we could bring the new junior club under the banner of the Belfast Giants. With Todd's background as a hockey player who has come through junior development himself, and the Giants need to support grassroots hockey in Northern Ireland, this was a chance too good to miss for all concerned. After many meetings and much discussion Todd gave the green light (or should I say Teal light) and the Belfast Junior Giants where born.

True to his word, Todd immediatley swung into action on behalf of the junior section and brought TESCO onboard as the main sponsor. This season TESCO has supplied all the junior sections playing shirts & socks along with much needed funds and have given us 10 bag packing slots at their stores through out Northern Ireland.
